You have to read this blog post from Annie Seel, who despite this harrowing near death experience, managed to stay out of the tomb, retrieve her bike with the help of a helicopter, then rejoin the race for Dakar. Once again, this confirms my belief that no matter how tempting it might be to add this event to my bucket list, I will not be making plans to compete in the Dakar rally any time soon.
