Some of the best climbers have gathered for this year’s race, including Dave Zabriskie, who had a great ride in this year’s Tour de France. Another local rider who is likely to bust out a big stick and wield it mightily on the epic climbing stages is Utah’s homegrown homie Burke Swindlehurst, or @slctbird on Twitter. We bumped into T-Bird on a ride up Millcreek Canyon, and conducted the following 1 question interview, a format pioneered by Dave Z.
One of Dave Z’s Stolen Cars Recovered In SLC
26 Feb 2009, written by moto 0 CommentsThanks to Dave Fields for passing on this news article in the Salt Lake Tribune. Z’s Scion was recovered by the SLC police gang unit. That still leaves his other car, a Subaru Outback, as well as bikes, trophies, Olympic memorabilia. Let’s hope the recovery of one car leads to more arrests and the recovery of more stuff.
Z Was Robbed
23 Feb 2009, written by moto 0 CommentsAfter putting in a stellar ride over 9 days in the Amgen Tour of California and claiming 2nd overall against the world’s best pro cyclists, Dave Z came home to SLC to discover he had been robbed. His house was broken into while away, and the bandits made away with cars, bikes, and other personal effects. I’m calling for everyone in the cycling world, especially close to home, to look out for Dave’s stuff. Whoever did this should be apprehended and sent straight to the Point of the Mountain in an orange jumpsuit with a very slippery bar of soap. Keep an eye out for Garmin Slipstream gear on ebay and report it to the local authorities if you see anything suspicious. This is no way to treat Captain America.
